Welcome to Bush Line Lodge

"Bush Line Lodge" Our Bed and Breakfast at 232 Umukuri Road Motueka.

Welcome to our "home by the sea". Beautifully peaceful, secluded, tranquil, and we can guarantee your privacy. Situated close to the bush line above Motueka, we have a superb lifestyle quality home with an amazing view across the Tasman Bay, and you can see right up to D'Urville Island. The view to say the least is incredible.

Our property boasts native bush, landscaped gardens with many colorful plants, and native birds that come to visit us during the day.

The sun shines into our home most of the day through the vast curved windows and so it is warm most of the time. Even when it’s raining, it’s warm.

So much to see and do in the beautiful Tasman region

From our home up on the hill, you can drive into Kaiteriteri around 9.5 km drive, drive into Motueka around 7 km, Nelson around 45 minutes drive. On the way to Nelson you can stop off at Ruby Bay and walk on the shoreline of Tasman Bay, and then drive a short distance east to Mapua and visit one of the many cafes and restaurants. You can drive west to Abel Tasman National Park and walk one of the many bush walks, or continue on to Takaka Hill to Golden Bay and see the truly inspiring sights and more beaches. There is literally so much to see and do here, just walking one of the many beaches can fill your entire day.

We offer a delicious cooked or continental breakfast with local produce of the highest quality as a bonus to your stay. We also can provide an evening meal should you wish to dine with us. We have a large variety of drinks available, many books to read should you just wish to "chill out". There is a vast selection of music to listen to while you are here as well.

Feel free to walk the gardens and enjoy the many viewing platforms on our property while soaking up the sunshine. Be awed by the Tuis and Wood Pigeons that fly over head to keep an eye on what we are doing. The Bell birds and Fantail fly in as well. We are in their natural habitat and they keep an eye on us. We have even had a Weka wander onto the lawn to be part of the proceedings.

We have traveled abroad and were shown huge hospitality while on holiday in some countries, and this is our time to share and make you feel welcome at our "home by the sea". Enjoy!

We will be on site at all times to help make your holiday an amazing event to remember whether you are a couple out for a romantic getaway, or couples out for a secluded retreat, single travelers who want somewhere better to stay with much more space and privacy. No matter what the reason, you will enjoy the view across the bay for sure.

We live in the high profile tourist area of Tasman Bay, with its own fabulous warm climate. The climate here is best for the very busy local intensive horticulture fruit growing area, and quiet farming neighbours . Everything’s happens within close proximity to local towns and beaches, especially famous Kaiteriteri Beach with golden sands. Little Kaiteriteri is our favorite spot in the whole area.

While you are with us you can walk around our property and enjoy the gardens, but driving is essential to get to all local tourist spots, shopping areas, restaurants and cafes.
